About Us
Riverview Rescues was founded by Laura Pelkey, in the summer of 2021. After many years in rescue, Laura decided she wanted more than what she was getting from fostering and volunteering with other rescues and incorporated the non-profit under the name 13105326 Canada Association.
Riverview Rescues is an all-breed rescue that focuses on rescuing animals in need, rehabbing them in safe and enriching environments, and rehoming them to forever homes where they can live the lives they deserve. We take in dogs and cats with behavioural needs of all ages, in addition to medical needs cases. We accept owner surrenders, rescue transfers, puppy mill survivors, and aid Northern communities facing stray dog overpopulation. Our intakes are decided upon by our foster's availability and capabilities, and we couldn't do it without our amazing volunteers who open their homes to dogs and cats in need. Riverview Rescues is 100% volunteer-run, and our funds come from donations, fundraising, and adoption fees. Riverview Rescues works with many different rescues to accomplish life-saving goals, we can't do this work alone.
